A Descriptive Peak into The Future
Revelation 21:22-23 (KJB) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
These verses give us a “sneak peek” inside the New Jerusalem. The Apostle John has been afforded his own glance by God and was inspired to record in these few verses of Revelation what he saw. While most of his description is about the outside of the city, the streets of gold and the pearly gates, these few verses delve into the interior of the new city.
There is no temple found in the New Jerusalem for the presence of God and Jesus Christ are the temple! There is need to have any established place of worship for all the attention and adoration of the saints (yes, that includes you and me) will be wholly focused on Jesus Christ. He alone both deserves and desires our worship. That is what the saints will do all day long in this new city worship God!
There will be no other temple or place of worship. The presence of God and Jesus Christ inside the heavenly eternal dwelling place is all that is necessary. They alone will be the object of all worship and adulation.
