A New Song
Psalm 33:1-3 (KJB) Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
A child of God plays and sings a NEW song meant for a heavenly hearted holy audience. Rather than entertaining with “churchy” or “feel good” emotionally based music found in both in this society and churches bent on running neck and neck with this world.
Worship God in truth and spirit (John 4:24) rather than in the spirit of the god of this world. This spirit includes all aspects of praise, including the “spiritual flavor” of music. Not all songs are music to God’s ears. Some tunes are raunchy, and dark and deadly favorites enjoyed by the god of this world. They are not meant for harmonizing and honoring God. The devil’s music is merely a raucous noise, a “spiritual nuisance” to both God and society which point to self rather than for highlighting and honoring the holy nature of God.
Yes, there is a holy brand of God-honoring music as well as “spiritually tainted music.” One kind solely serves to be palatable to man and to pacify the dark emotion and passion of the devil. While the other, holy harmonies pleasing and honorable to God and for serving and soothing the softened heart condition at work inside the regenerated man.
