A Servant’s Heart
1 Corinthians 9:20-21 (KJB) And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
These verses are the epitome of serving others through serving Christ.
The regenerate heart does not serve Christ because man naturally desires to keep the law for we know that spiritual feat is impossible. There is no possible way any man can recognize and keep every law revealed by God in the Old Testament. There were hundreds of them!
Only God is perfect and can keep His Law.
However, the man who desires to serve Christ and others because he has a heart filled with the love of Christ can keep the law through having a personal relationship with God. This allows the Spirit of God to reside in the softened heart of man working its way outside to affect both his heart and his actions for bringing honor and glory to God.
Serving Christ is always manifested in the life of a child of God. It is using one’s life as a spiritual billboard for things of God.
Serving Christ through serving others is a choice each man must personally make. God does not take captives to accomplish His will.
God is revealing through Paul that the regenerated man is to become whatever is necessary for the lives of lost souls to showcase the love and presence of God at work in their heart, mind, and life so that the lost person will ultimately desire to have God’s presence at work in their own life.
Be willing to spiritually bloom where God plants you!
