A Spiritual Shipwreck Waiting to Happen
Jude 12 (KJB) These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots.
There were apostates that were crouching with a snare laid out to trip unsuspecting spiritual men.
The “spots in your feast of charity…” recorded in the verses above painted a depiction of imminent dangers always lying in wait to snare godly but gullible men by those who falsely professed faith in Christ. They masquerade about as godly men, but in reality, live far from Him. They display actions of an immoral nature rather than godly works.
This was a spiritual shipwreck waiting to happen. These spots were mars on men who had made a profession of faith but failed to show it in their choice of action.
Those who had professed Christ but lived like the devil always fail to spiritually produce fruit and thrive. Their fruit withers and wanes because they were not blessed by God to receive necessary rain and fertilization to promote new life and continuous mature growth.
Those with false professions are plucked out by the roots never established their heart into good solid eternal ground.
