A “Spiritual Slippery Slope”
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 10-11 KJV)
Doctrine is everything or nothing at all. It either speaks the Truths of God or speaks nothing and is devoid of the Truth. True doctrine can only be found in God’s Word. All things, both this world and the world to come are based upon the solid and eternal foundation of God’s Word.
False doctrine often has tidbits of truth twisted and stretched to unnatural proportions far removed from the teaching and intention of the truths of God’s Word. It is based solely upon fabricated words and impure thoughts of man, having absolutely nothing to do with truths of God. False doctrine is so dangerous and detrimental to the spiritual health of mankind that God’s Word clearly instructs man not to allow the presence of any person conveying or teaching any form of fabricated doctrine to enter inside his house. Why, because false teaching is fashioned to be similar to God’s Word and can be employed to fool even seasoned Christians. This leaves the spiritual door wide open for many who are loosely familiar with God’s Word. It leaves them vulnerable and tolerant of stark falsehoods often accepted eagerly as Truth.
