Jesus came to die so that we can live; now and for all eternity. It took every drop of His precious blood shed on the cross at Calvary to pay the price for all sin; including yours and mine. For those who place their faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross His Spirit comes to dwell inside their heart as they live upon this earth cloaked in His supernatural power.
Living with God is not simply taking a leisurely stroll along the narrow pathway but at a purposeful pace as we shine the light upon all things of God. He gives all who are in a personal relationship with Him spiritual tools and talents used in the church and in their calling or specialized line of spiritual work all for bringing Him honor and glory.
Not all people have the same tools; each person specializes according to God’s will in their life as He deems purposeful in furthering His Gospel Message. What tools did He place in your Spiritual Tool Box for building upon His sure foundation bringing honor and glory to Him? There are many divinely inspired tools; not every person has each of them but all individuals have an assortment. Some people have a small portable tool box while others have an extensive array of tools housed in larger cabinets.
Common tools found in God’s Spiritual Toolbox include:
A hammer to knock down those pointed nails we often get caught on and begin to unravel, a plumb line to keep us straight according to the standard of God’s Word, a level for remaining spiritually composed and centered on His Word, plenty of nails to nail our sins one by one to the cross, a socket set to tighten any loose bolts in our thinking pattern, sand paper of different grades to smooth out any rough edges or areas of our life, a file and chisel to carve and whittle out any unholy habits or attributes from the god of this world in our life, a cordless screw driver to get in those tight spots needing torqued or tightened, a wrench to provide a turning force on stubborn nuts in our life, hinges to remain on a continual axis in a personal relationship with God maintaining alignment as contrary winds blow about, a ladder to reach those areas above us which need to be refreshed and painted with a splash of color to liven them up. A tape measure and square to proportion and right-angle the edges of life, pliers to grasp important precepts, both flathead and Phillips screw drivers for nudging and prodding or turning screws, vice grips for holding on in those tough jobs, wire cutters for making the strong cuts, C-clamps for holding things together, a cordless drill for turning at multiple speeds along with reverse gear for times that go awry and God calls for us to evacuate, a regular saw for minor cuts and a rip saw for going against the grain, and a chain saw for even more power, and a sharp utility knife for multiple tasks, and most importantly a sword for slicing and dicing a spiritual salad iced with a generous dressing of Truth from God’s Word for those whom God places in our path along the narrow way.
What tools has God placed in your spiritual tool box for use in spreading His Truth to glorify and honor Him as you sojourn upon this earth?
