Adorned with New Spiritual Life
Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJB) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
When a hardworking man or a woman get filthy and dirty in the process of physical labor in the confines of their daily job, most likely the first thing they do when they arrive home is to shower and put on clean clothes. They cannot stand wearing these sweaty and filthy rags even a moment longer.
However, when the presence of dirt is recognized in a spiritually renewed heart after a regenerated person receives God’s cleaning and new spiritual life, sometimes a person fails to allow God to remove and eradicate their sin daily.
Instead of allowing God to remove their filthiness, they attempt to hold onto tattered remnants of their “favorite” sin. Doing so they fail to enjoy new life made possible only by the grace and mercy of Christ.
They fail miserably to stand spiritually tall in their eternal position with Christ, continue to put off their old self and to identify in a new life with Christ as they sojourn in this dark world.
A new spiritual life and the putting on of the new man is apparent daily in the life of a child of God who desires to look like, sound like, smell like, and vertebrate with the life of Jesus Christ present and working in their heart and soul. A child of God agrees with the nature of God.
