Affliction Can Fuel Spiritual Lessons
Psalm 119:71 (KJB) It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
It’s true, affliction can carry great spiritual benefits. Though it may not seem as so in the middle of difficulty, affliction can grow and mature a soul. Trials and tribulations can benefit the child of God by producing greater Christlikeness and character in our life.
An illness, disease, or trial, whether it be a spiritual or physical; can deepen and broaden an existing personal relationship with Christ. Or the presence of troubles can spawn a desire to personally know God in the life of a lost person. God’s statutes are an impossible list no person can keep on his own, however, with the presence of Christ dwelling inside the heart, God’s decrees are not impossible for God can and will give a spiritually rejuvenated heart the power to live a victorious spiritual life in any circumstance.
Every heart is yearning to know God, but many ignore the presence of a natural desire to know God by feeding their craving for God with fleeting things of this world. Sometimes God can only get our attention by ushering trials and troubles for a spiritual awakening or for our greater maturity.
