Are You A “Doubting Thomas” Or A Firm Believer?
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? (John 3:12 KJV)
This is a very piercing question Jesus presented to Nicodemus who was wavering in faith. This pointed question is good for us to ponder upon today. If doubting people cannot accept the truth about things on this earth they can see with their very own eyes, how are they ever going to believe the truth about heavenly things, they cannot see or firmly grasp without faith?
The Bible tells us that It takes faith, as tiny as a mustard seed, to believe in the unseen things of God veiled by our naturally weakened human eyes and our current limited vantage point from this world. Jesus never asks mankind to have blind faith. He has given mankind plenty of substantial proof in nature he can see, hear, touch, and a clear understanding discerned in His Word to muster up plenty faith and hope in heavenly things not seen from his limited view upon this earth.
