Are You Limiting Your Spiritual Prosperity?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. (James 4:2 KJV)
This verse is talking about untapped supernatural power of God available in the genuine Christian’s life. There are many “ho-hum” professing Christians at work in this world who are operating in their own strength and power, or with faith that is wobbly and weak, rather than operating wisely by dwelling amongst the provision of supernatural power of God.
Children of God often severely limit their own spiritual success because they fail to scripturally ask for God’s help and rest and determine to rest from their own desires by abiding in His strength and will. His Word says to seek God first, rather than rely upon our own self, and ask not necessarily for what we desire, but for what God determines we need in fulfilling His will in our life.
When we ask God will generously or liberally provide for us whatever is necessary for our spiritual maturity and success ultimately for bringing Him all the honor and glory.
