Called of God
1 Timothy 3:4-5 (KJB) One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
It is vital that a man of God, divinely called to pastor a church, first be established his own house with a godly spiritual order according to the precepts and principals found in God’s Word. The proper leading of his own home is a stepping stone for him in modeling this vital spiritual training for other men and necessary for him to run a God led church.
A man cannot teach precepts and commandments of God to others of which he does not have working or chose to apply in his own life.
God has spelled out the heart condition, responsibilities, and lifestyle for a godly driven man to adopt clearly in His Word. He is to be a blameless church leader rather than a ring leader. He is to run God’s house as well as his own home in a way honoring and pleasing to God rather than bringing glory to himself.
If a man of God fails to properly handle his own house how can he possibly help any other man to identify with God, serve Him personally and in His in church?
A man who chooses to identify with God is divinely called to serve both God and others. Some, in addition, are called to pastor one of God’s churches in this world. However, no man can “call himself” personally to serve God as a pastor of a church.
