Consider Your Sin
Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. (Haggai 1:5 KJV)
This verse and short and succinct!
This verse does not say consider your neighbor’s way. Or consider your spouse’s way.
The Lord says to consider YOUR way.
The Lord was trying to get the people to look at their selves rather than observing sin of others. The troubling situations they found themselves in were their fault individually and not collectively because of somebody else’s sin. If mankind would look to themselves first and choose to govern his life right and not worry about the direction of others, their troubling circumstances would be minimized or even abated in a short time frame.
Many need to heed this godly directive in their lives today. Man often likes to look collectively at problems and observe faults and fissures of others, but often fails to look at the magnitude of his sin and failures adding “spiritual fuel” to fires burning all around him.
