Dealing with Demons Is Serious
Acts 19:13-16 (KJB) Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
The vagabond Jews mentioned in these verses were gypsies who wandered about making a living by claiming to have the power necessary to cast out demons. Perhaps they attempted to mirror the Apostle Paul who they had witnessed to remove demons in the name of JESUS CHRIST.
However, these gypsies were not working in the power of the Holy Spirit or able to rightly claim having the power of JESUS CHRIST while attempting to remove dark spirits of satan. When doing their bidding to eradicate several demons out of a man, the gypsies were instead overtaken by the demons, forced to flee naked and wounded.
Certainly, this would have been a “spiritual wakeup call!” A highly traumatizing experience they would not forget or quickly recover from.
Only the power of JESUS CHRIST can exterminate demons according to God’s will and with His chosen vessels of service. Paul was a chosen servant given the necessary supernatural power and presence for serving in this special capacity.
Delivering a person from the power of demons requires specially fitted servants and is not for the common Christian servant, it should not be attempted solely for making money or fame for dark forces are dangerous and never taken lightly. Removing demons is always serious spiritual business.
