Do You Live In A“Pig Pen” Or “Spiritual Palace”?
Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: (Genesis 35:2 KJV)
Many houses in this world need “a Jacob of this day.” A person who cares enough to establish boundaries in a home according to a God oriented order.
Yes, God has a specific pattern or order for our lives. His plan is simple and is revealed in His Word. God’s plan will usher in a new wardrobe, removing our naturally filthy garments, and ushering in spiritual cleanliness not found in anything of this world.
There are plenty of biblical examples of establishing a home according to the commandments and precepts God.
Jacob “stepped up to the plate” to be the man of his house rather than choosing to live in the outfield in life with his back to God. Jacob returned to Bethel facing divine direction of God for his life.
Joshua chose to profess and commit his earthly house to God saying “as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD…”
God’s commandments and precepts are not for the purpose of limiting freedom placing a great deal of restrictions upon mankind. Rather they are for bringing out eternally based freedom found in God through the work of His Son Jesus Christ.
