Eve was the first female, first wife, and first mother of Cain, Abel, and Seth. She is our first example of a woman created by the hand of God. God created her by piercing the side of Adam the first man created upon this earth. Woman was taken from man and given a specific role on this earth. Women are to be a helpmeet for their husband to assist him in meeting the will of God upon this earth.
Our God is a god of order. God created mankind in a specific order; Eve was created after Adam. This biblical order is important; making her God-given role one of submission, or to fall in line in service to her husband who is to be in submission to the will of God. Submission is not ruling authority over another but rather yielding to another out of love first for God, love for the other person, and lastly love for self.
Both Adam and Eve became spiritually dysfunctional; falling out of line in their submission; one to another, but most importantly both fell out of proper spiritual alignment under the covering of the authority of God which was to be first and foremost in their life. Eve, who was spiritually uncovered or out of the will of God, was tricked and blatantly spiritually duped by the satan who himself had fallen out of service to God due to an unrepentant prideful fall from the Heavenly realm now serving evil and wickedness upon the earth.
At some time after his fall satan initiated a conversation with Eve in the garden. Satan preyed upon Eve who was the weaker spiritual link rather than initiating this dreadful discussion with Adam. It was Adam who God made responsible for his own spiritual heart condition along with the spiritual atmosphere in which he and his wife lived.
Satan asked Eve a question: Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Eve was not as versed in the knowledge of God or His will as Adam her husband was to be his God-given role of spiritual leader. Her part was to be a helpmeet to Adam first and foremost. Yet satan found Eve wandering alone in the garden. Perhaps it should be said as a helpmeet she was to be alongside her husband who was to be busy about teaching her the spiritual things of God.
Separation had left them both open to spiritual assault; with Eve capitulating to satan’s veiled attempt to question the authority of God with pride ruling his darkened heart. After hearing this Eve began immediately to ponder and question God’s authority; weighing the one commandment God had given to Adam. Adam was not by her side to provide any spiritual insight or understanding in this matter.
The fall of all mankind began with this one question which led to Eve down the path to taking a bite out of the prohibited fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. This fruit was not prohibited because Adam did not want her to eat of it, or because of anything Satan said to her. This fruit of the tree of knowledge was prohibited because God in His authority clearly commanded Adam it was not to be eaten. However, Adam came alongside Eve and also ate of the forbidden fruit following Eve into the abyss of sin and shame.
Adam blamed God; Eve blamed Adam; and they both blamed each other but God laid the blame squarely upon Adam’s shoulders because he was to be a head of his wife. Eve, the first woman, ignored the spiritual importance of allowing God’s authority over her along with submitting to her God given role to be covered under the spiritual leadership of her husband following a commandment given of God for her own spiritual benefit.
Sin therefore changed the atmosphere and spiritual flavor or the world unto this day as Eve succumbed unto the dark spirit of satan taking a bite of the forbidden fruit but God already had a plan in place for their spiritual salvation from the darkness of sin.
Eve started the downfall of mankind by opening a dark spiritual door, through taking a bite of this delectable but deadly fruit. God’s perfect will intended this darkened door remain closed forever. Eve, through her simple understanding of the things of God, permitted a rebellious carnal nature to well up inside her opening the door to darkening all mankind with a predisposed nature to sin through physical birth upon this earth.
This spiritual event left both Adam and Eve naturally naked and exposed before God and prohibited from living in the perfection of the Garden of Eden upon this earth and destined to physical death unto the fires of Hell forever. God called out to them and covered them with fig leaves when they saw their nakedness, just as we are covered in the blood, bringing about salvation as we see our own sin and nakedness as God views it.
Lessons from Eve for ladies:
Ladies, God has a specific role for you as you sojourn upon this earth. He desires that women be in submission to the things of God and secondly spiritually covered by submission to their own husband (who himself is in submission to God).
Ladies if your husband is not under the authority of God than God will be your spiritual umbrella or covering. He will envelope you in His arms, be your final authority and adoptive “spiritual spouse.” Many ladies have absent husbands, no husband, are a widow, through making a personal choice of not fulfilling the role of helpmeet alongside their husband, and for whatever reason, between them and God, are not found under the covering of their own husband.
Ladies your spiritual house must be in order aligned up with God’s will; starting first with your own personal submission to the things of God. Eve started a spiritual spiral of sin, which Adam allowed to befall his wife, of which only God through His Son Jesus Christ has the permanent cure. Ladies serve God from under the covering of your husband and the authority of God always giving Him all the glory and honor.
