Every Man Faces Temptation
James 1:14-15 (KJB) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
A person cannot be alive in this world and not be faced with temptation.
Even Jesus Christ faced temptation when He was alive on this earth.
Having the potential for choosing to sin does not mean a person allows himself to fall into the devil’s sly tricks and traps. It means that any man who is a child of God must understand His Word and hone their spiritual discernment up a notch for two. He must stay a step or two ahead of the dark schemes of the god of this world who is anxious to trip a man up and make him precariously stumble.
Because she was not well acquainted with what God had said, the devil could twist God’s words for catching Eve off-guard and unaware of his false claims.
You see, it is in the natural power of our own weak flesh that we can be easily seduced or bribed by the god of this world, therefore choosing to fall into a myriad of sin. The devil doesn’t make us do it …. We choose of our own volition to sin.
It is only by operating in the power of God, naturally at work in the heart of every child of God, that choosing to sin in not so pleasant, palatable, and pleasing to a man.
The natural man is tempted to sin in his weak flesh. He repeatedly chooses to sin and his personal sin brings forth physical and spiritual death. The natural man does not seek after possessing eternal life only available inside a personal relationship with supernatural power of God. This man dies in his sin facing an eternal existence in the fires of hell forevermore.
The spiritual man is tempted to sin but he chooses to discern right from wrong according to the precepts and commandment found in the Word of God. He can choose to consistently make better and godly choices because the supernatural power of God is at work in his softened heart. The regenerated man asks for forgiveness for his own sin, desires what God desires and will certainly live forever in the eternal realm.
