Ezekiel Was Inspired to Sound the Alarm

The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 14:12-14 KJV)

Ezekiel was a prophet of God who was inspired to enlighten those in his midst about what would happen to grievous sinners who resisted repenting unto God.  God takes sin very serious, and Ezekiel understood that nobody would get away with continuing to live in sin but would face certain consequences.

Ezekiel knew that God would use whatever necessary to get man’s attention off this world and onto Him.  God can cut off the daily supply of food implementing a famine in the land.  God’s move served to get man’s undivided attention.  When man’s belly is no longer satisfied from things in this world and is craving fulfillment, he will listen more intently to things of God.

Many great people of the Bible lived in a time of physical famine and great spiritual need including Jacob, Joseph and his brothers, Job, Noah, and Daniel and his three friends.  These men stood strong in hard times and God succinctly delivered them out of physical and spiritual famine.

Today there is a great spiritual famine tragically claiming lost souls.  Souls are wasting away through brash rejection of God and His will and also through spiritual laziness and lackluster service of His family unto things of God.

takeupyourcrossredocmclearGod will soon stretch His hand to strike eternally those who continue to resist God’s deliverance and are foolishly living in opposition to His will facing great famine on this earth and death in the eternal realm.
