Faith is Taking God at His Word
2 Peter 3:3-4 (KJB) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Faithfully serving God is taking God at His Word despite what you can see with your eyes. It is looking beyond our immediate circumstances and placing hope in the power and presence of God for both today and the future.
When a man or woman of God allow themselves to be caught up in dealing with today’s trials and troubles and the incessant ridicule of scoffers then they cannot plainly see or hear of the truth of God at work in the future and a stronghold of fear and hopelessness begins to set firmly into the details of their life.
A man of God is safe and secure inside an unbreakable bond of faith and freedom with God. Without this spiritual bond of faith, a man cannot get past and break free from the looming and lingering storm clouds highly visible in the horizon of today.
Observing this world through eyes of faith in the power and presence of God allows a man to have hope both today and in a tomorrow. This hope is centered around the supernatural power and presence of God rather than his or her own wallowing and weaknesses.
