Fear Can Paralyze or Perfect
John 7:13 (KJB) Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
Fear founded in things of this world can be a spiritually paralyzing thing.
Fear can stop a man “dead in his tracks” both physically and spiritually.
This verse alludes to a time in ancient history when man feared the Jewish people as well as the nation of Israel. Perhaps some men harbor no fear of the Jewish people today but do not have proper spiritual reverence towards God and His chosen people.
The bottom line: The heart of man either fears God or he fears mankind. It is just that simple.
Godly fear opens a spiritual opportunity for a personal relationship with God. Fear based solely in this world works against, or in opposition to God. Man can slam the door of spiritual potential shut because he fears things in this world more than things of God.
