Fearing God Brings Life
Matthew 10:28 (KJB) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
The fires of Hell will never be extinguished but will be raging perpetually. All who end up in the midst of these persistent flames will wish over and over again he or she was in fellowship with God, or at the very least both physically and spiritually dead, because the suffering and pain will be unbearable.
This verse was inspired in context to Jewish converts in Jeremiah 30:7. However, it has broad application to include anyone who might choose to fear what man can do, rather than fear what God will do.
Fearing God allows man to be brought in subjection to His will and free to live according to His way. The spiritually humble and obedient man will be preserved and be in fellowship with God forever.
Fearing what man can do will certainly destroy man both physically and spiritually.
