For HIS Name Sake
Psalm 23:3 (KJB) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Everything a godly man does is to be for the sole purpose of bringing glory and honor to God.
Yes, every last thing.
Nothing is to be for self-gratification, or self-honor, or for uplifting another man. It is all solely for pointing to the goodness and grace of God. Regrettably, not many professing Christians clearly understand this important spiritual concept of honoring the namesake of Christ. Though he or she cannot fill this role perfectly on this earth and will be perfected in the eternal realm, they can strive to follow and apply the will and way of God as they sojourn in this world.
For many, not comprehending this, means the difference between eternal life and death.
God always leads every man in a restorative and healing direction while the god of this world always tempts a man to veer off into a spiritual briar patch containing many spiritual wounding opportunities.
If a person is not willing to humble himself and put on the desires of God in his life then he is certainly making a choice to head into a dark and opposing direction rather than pointing to God with his life for bringing Him all the honor and glory. Sadly, making such a grave spiritual error does not provide any eternal restoration for his wounded spirit.
God desires to be honored and glorified as He divinely heals and restores every soul. God provides a righteous direction meant for application in every life. Yes, God provides an eternal pathway but every man must choose to walk upon it as he sojourns in this world.
