Genuine Joy, Peace, and Hope Only Come from God
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13 KJV)
Hope and faith bundled with joy are essential in living Christ-like. Being down in the dumps or “out of sorts” is not a place for professing Christians to dwell. Gloominess should be only a temporary situation, or short-lived spiritual season in our lives, made better by focusing intently upon things of God rather than our circumstances.
Joy and hope often wane as our faith begins to falter and diminish. When mankind chooses to focus upon his immediate circumstances and allow himself to be caught up in trials and adverse circumstances surrounding him, rather than placing his focus squarely upon the power and supernatural strength of God already at work in situations at hand.
Having supernatural joy and peace does not come through relying upon our own power. Or in trusting God to accomplish what we desire. God’s work is never bound up in us, our earthly circumstances, or wrapped up in people surrounding us. Genuine faith and hope can only accomplished through reliance upon the supernatural power of God at work in our life and trusting in God for the outcome.
Faith is taking God at His Word and resting upon His great mercy and grace.
