God Delivers and Directs
Psalm 40:2-3 (KJB) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Every person can relate to the horrible pit brought about in their life by sin. Even unregenerate people realize that sin places man in awful circumstances by viewing the circumstances in the lives of others about them. Often mankind likes to look at the sin of others he considers to be “bad” in his opinion. He sorts the sins of others by levels or degrees while at the same time places his sins at the bottom of the scale.
When a man views his own life on a personal level, he will clearly see his sin and the mud which surrounds him. Only then will he see the horrible pit from which he himself needs deliverance from.
Only then will he be able to personally appreciate the finished work of the cross and the love of God who enabled deliverance from his own sin.
Mankind often likes to sees good within himself rather than evil. Mankind is naturally born with an evil leaning heart in desperate need of the supernatural power and presence of God.
God desires all mankind be saved from his sinful nature (1st Timothy 2:4).
