God Loved You at Your Worst
Proverbs 8:36 (KJB) But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
It is easy for man to get this life principle backward.
People who are aligned with the god of this world often believe God is “staged” against them. That God hates them and desires His worst for them.
Nothing is further from the truth. God is love and loves all mankind. He loved man with a perfect love. One that allowed Him to die for their sin; past, present, and future. You see, God loved mankind even when he was unlovable.
Simply put, God loved you at your worst.
Often mankind only loves others, including God, only when they are perceived to be at their best or prime of life. Yes, it is naturally easy to love God when everything is going right in your life and everything is good and pleasant. It is easy to love both God and others when you “feel” they genuinely love you back.
However, it is easier to love only on yourself having a pity party when your circumstances are falling apart all around you. Perhaps in tough times it “feels” like God has it out for you, rather than that God is maturing you through purging fires desiring His best for your life.
The bottom line: Those who love themselves more than God surely love eternal death and destruction. Those who love God with all their heart love life in any circumstance and desire to live for all eternity.
