Gratify and Honor God
Galatians 6:14 (KJB) But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Only God deserves and desires the glory and honor of all men.
It is easy for a man to swell up with pride and to allow an attitude of “I deserve it” to work in his life rather than setting aside selfish desires and humbly choosing to serve and glorify God.
It is natural, acceptable, and the “norm” in this world for mankind to find importance in himself, with others, and to ignore the power and presence of God. It is a supernatural force at work in man’s heart which desires to look to God and give Him all the honor and glory.
A man has no natural desire to please God. It is only when he sees himself in light of Truth that he can see his own need for God. The natural man cannot see his desperate heart condition. It takes a divine spiritual vision to comprehend our true human nature. Then, and only then, can man see his great need of Jesus Christ, the unending love of God the Father, and desire His Supernatural Spirit to work inside his heart.
When the object of man’s adoration and worship changes from self to God he then can desire with his whole heart to serve, honor and glorify Him.
