Hate Evil and Cling to Godliness
Romans 12:9 (KJB) Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Imagine if this verse were practically applied by every person professing to be a loving child of Christ. It would certainly magnanimously change the cloudy and dark atmosphere found at work in this world.
Simply put, it is choosing to turn from evil to that which is godly. This sounds simple, but it is often spiritually complex. A man frequently finds himself in heated battles between his flesh and his new spiritual nature from God. These spiritual battles are serious spiritual business and often can end up being self-serving rather than God-serving.
Because a man is repeatedly tempted to satisfy himself through the palatable nature of sin rather than loving and serving others through the eternal potential of the supernatural power of God.
Evil and dark temptations continually assail man while he sojourns in this world. The secret to mounting an eternally lasting defense against this evil is to stand spiritually tall inside the unconditional love of Christ. Doing so is a proven spiritual defense. Trying in our own strength to maintain any power inside the weakness of our flesh will never realize any lasting effects or change in this world.
