He Layeth it on His Shoulders
Luke 15:3-6 (KJB) And he spake this parable unto them, saying, 4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
These verses from the book of Luke lay out the presence great compassion and concern that Jesus Christ has for the whereabouts of every lost sinner. He does not choose to turn His back from even one strangling lost spiritual offender rambling about in the wilderness of this world.
Instead, Jesus Christ chooses to leave the other ninety-nine in the wild to search for the spiritual welfare of even just one struggling lost sheep.
This parable puts the action of many Christians to shame. They choose to ignore or put out of their mind, any lingering evidence about the spiritual heart condition of multiple lost sinners wandering about them who are in desperate spiritual need. Certainly, many elect to forgo helping even just one poor lost soul.
However, God specializes in relationships concerning individual hearts. After all, He readily came to provide for your every need by placing you lovingly upon His stout shoulders and carrying you through the fuel of eternal fuel of faith from darkness into His light in this world.
What about you? Do you have a softened heart towards even one man or woman spiritually lost and desperate facing dark distress inside the foreboding wilderness of this world? Or would you choose to ignore such great spiritual destitution found at work in the life of a spiritually needy person that God has divinely placed before you?
