Is Physical Death a Precious Treasure or A Ghastly Event?
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Psalm 116:15 KJV)
The world looks at death as something final and dreadful. Those who are not spiritually regenerated in their heart fear the onset of their own physical death because they have no assurance of being alive beyond the grave.
Those who are members of God’s own spiritual family can look at physical death as a blessing and a bridge leading them into eternity with God. They can look to an unknown time of physical death in the future with great eagerness and hope because the Bible says those who are quickened spiritually alive will live forever in fellowship with God. Therefore, regenerated man can face physical death with faithful anticipation of fellowship with God forever.
God’s vision of physical death is precious and strikingly different than that of unregenerate mankind. God sees it from an eternal view point while man sees it from a limited worldly perspective. Those living without a relationship with God have great fear and anxiety about the many horrors awaiting them in the eternal realm without the presence of God forever.
