Jesus Christ Completed the Law He Did Not Abolish It
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. (Romans 10:4 KJV)
You probably have run into people who say that the Old Testament Law is no longer relevant for today.
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ came to fulfill or complete the law, not end it or make it no longer relevant for having a healthy spiritual life.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (Matthew 5:17 KJV)
Jesus Christ came to put the finishing touch upon God’s law in the New Testament by shedding His precious blood upon the cross for all sin: past, present, and future. Mankind cannot keep God’s law in his own strength but the law serves to show him how utterly sinful, helpless and hopeless he is aside from having a personal relationship with God. God is the only one who fulfills the law supernaturally perfect.
God’s law brings hope and healing to anyone who will accept the gift of salvation from God by His Son Jesus Christ’s death. He came to perfectly fulfill the law by shedding His precious blood on the cross at Calvary.
