Jesus Christ Faced the Same Temptations
Hebrews 2:18 (KJB) For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
It is so easy for a man hounded by temptations in this world to get the idea that his situation or problems are somehow so staggering that not even God can relate to them. Thinking like this is faulty and does not line up with the truths contained in God’s Word.
God tells us in His Word, specifically in this verse, that He suffered every possible temptation that a man or woman will ever suffer in this world.
How can that be, you ask?
There are three kinds of temptation (1st John 2:16). They are the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes. All sin comes from one of these three darkly planted roots. In fact, to put it in proper perspective the three temptations Jesus Christ faced when He was alive in this world stemmed from these dark roots.
Satan does not have any new tricks or temptations to capture your interest today that he did not have available since the commencement of his spiritual rouse. So, the next time you think no one else ever faced a certain temptation that has you distressed, think again, because God has faced them all and can personally relate to whatever is your situation.
A man or woman living in this world cannot rightly claim that God or His Son Jesus Christ would not understand the nature of a tempting situation he or she faces once he understands and applies the truth found in this verse.
