More Like Moses
Exodus 33:13-15 (KJB) Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
Moses considered and prayed about His situation at hand and proclaimed to God “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence…”
Moses knew in his heart that he desperately needed the presence of God as a spiritual ally alongside him in every step he took. Therefore, he abruptly concluded if God did not go forward, neither would he. Moses did not take time out to weigh whether he would stick by God’s side for he knew and understood that he desperately needed God.
Often a man likes to strike out on his own and try to make his way without the power and presence of God at work in his life.
Indeed, every man and woman who profess a spiritual relationship with God need to make sure the direction they desire to travel is with God rather than against God. Too many times a child of God hears the will and direction of God but he desires in his flesh to travel in a direction that is in opposition to God.
Moses chose to follow the pathway God had for Him knowing that he could not make any progress using his own will and way.
We need to be More like Moses, if God is not going in a direction we would like to travel, we need to alter our plans to reflect and follow the will and way of God rather than regarding and following after our own senses of direction which is always heading away from God.
