Nineveh’s Nationwide Revival
Jonah 3:4-5 (KJB) And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Can you just imagine this scene unfolding in ancient biblical times? A mass revival in the city of Ninevah. Not only would this overthrowing or conquering of many ill spiritual hearts liven up this city, but it would be an inner change in many ill hearts lasting a lifetime!
A nationwide revival would do amazing supernatural wonders in the hearts and minds of many people in this world. It would color the horizon with real hope and change. One that was not fake, fickle, or fades away at the first sign of trouble. Any change that God divinely distributes is certainly a forever change!
It is important to note that this ancient time of great changed developed with remorse for sin in the hearts, from the greatest to the least people. This was a change that ushered in spiritual agreement with God about the nature of sin and caused sorrow to well up in hearts for grieving about the presence of personal sin.
God can do a spiritual work like what happened in the hearts of the people of Ninevah for we serve the same God they personally met in ancient biblical times. Pray for God to change the hearts and minds of lost people in this world as we busy ourselves sowing seeds of His message.
