No Greater Love
John 15:13 (KJB) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
On this day of celebration and fireworks take the time to contemplate upon the History giving you and I a reason to celebrate. Without the determination of early settlers in the United States, perhaps you and I would live under British rule. We live in this great nation with freedoms granted by God, The Declaration of Independence, and the framing of the Constitution.
There were men in our history who were willing to lay down their lives for enjoying these freedoms. July 4th, 1776, or also known as Independence Day, is the day set aside for celebrating physical freedom gained from the rule of England by the thirteen established colonies.
Jesus Christ was sent by God the Father to sacrifice His physical life for the eternal spiritual benefit of all mankind. He willingly died on Calvary so that we can be spiritually free from the burden of sin, both now and for all eternity.
Jesus Christ’s willingness to die as a sacrifice for sin is by far the greatest example of love a man could show for others.
Jesus Christ is the supreme example of a man (who was also God) willing to lay His life down so that others can live for all eternity. The men of the Colonial era sacrificed lives so that mankind can enjoy certain freedoms in this great nation called America today.
