Not of Man but of God
2 Peter 1:21 (KJB) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
This verse has an important element necessary in understanding about the supernatural power of scripture. Prophecy contained in God’s Word did not come by reasoning or deduction of mankind. All scripture, including that which contains prophecy, is God-breathed or inspired of God (Luke 1:70, 2 Timothy 3:16, and 1st Peter 1:11).
Knowing for certain, from this verse and many others located throughout the whole canon of God’s Word, scripture divinely comes directly from God. That is, it was God-breathed, or inspired, and recorded by trustworthy scribes directed by God.
This makes His Word eternally purposeful and supernatural powerful.
Prophecy located in God’s Word is not just stories, fables, or wishful thinking it is the Truth about the future.
Today God’s Word is complete. There is no other prophecy yet to be revealed and many prophecies have been already fulfilled. There is not one holy prediction that was uttered casually and you can count on it- all that has been divinely revealed will come to pass according to His will and timing.
