Paul Was Spiritually at Ease
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. (2 Corinthians 4:8-10 KJV)
Trouble looms all around us. It is easy to lose hope shifting our view to peer intently upon dark storm clouds forming in this world.
However, God desires that we keep our eyes focused upon Him rather than concentrating upon the troubles surrounding us in this world.
Paul’s life is a great example of the importance of keeping close attention on God rather than focusing on events and circumstances at work in our lives. Paul had every reason to lose hope and give up because of detrimental circumstances at work in his life rather than choosing to sojourn patiently and peacefully in this world.
The Apostle Paul was faced with many obstacles and dangers in this world but never lost his personal view of God at work in the driver’s seat of his life, therefore remaining at peace in the midst of troubling times at hand.
