Perhaps Noah’s Obedience Seemed Senseless…. Until the Very Day It Began to Rain
Hebrews 11:7 (KJB) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Choosing to trust God and follow Him in faith may seem idiotic and irrational to those who do not personally know Him. We can read the biblical account of Noah and understand that quite the opposite is true.
Many people in that day believed that Noah, a man who feared God, was wasting precious time and energy working diligently 120 years to build a boat at the direction and design of God. These people must have remarked that Noah had completely lost his senses. What a foolish man they must have said, until the very day that rain began to fall.
Don’t lose heart when people make fun of your devotion and service to God while you sojourn in this world. Mankind did the same thing in the time of Noah. However, we know from reading the actual account in God’s Word that despite what others said, Noah was quick to obey God and without lagging, or asking numerous questions. It was through his devout faith and obedience that Noah and his family became heirs of Christ. His family was found safe and dry with God as ominous storm clouds began to drop rain, lots of rain, flooding the earth.
Noah trusted God and his obedience and regard for things of God landed himself and his immediate family members to be divinely tucked into the eternal safety of God’s ark. A short account of his walk with God can be found in the “Believer’s Hall of Fame” which located in the Bible book of Hebrews chapter eleven where this above scripture verse is found.
