Rich Blessings Found in Christ
Luke 6:20-23 (KJB) And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
These verses are bursting with rich blessings to be found inside a personal relationship with God. A personal relationship with God is not a walk through a rose garden or a walk down easy street. These situations could even sound at first like great burdens rather than blessings.
Blessings in being poor, both in spiritual meekness and perhaps in monetary manner.
Blessing for those who are hungry and in need of both physical and spiritual sustenance.
Blessings are found on the other side of tears because joy always comes in the morning.
Blessing through hatred and reproach because Jesus Christ was ridiculed and reviled mankind will face persecution as well.
The greatest blessing for the child of God is revealed in the last sentence with the reception of eternal rewards for his or her obedience and reliance upon God through the fuel of faith.
