Matthew 16:25-26 (KJB) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Social work can best be described as man’s work intended for the projected betterment of others. Social work is often perceived as being employed in the best interest of other people. However, man needs to keep in the forefront of his mind this work is accomplished according to laws, policies, and procedures of our world and wholly based upon a viewpoint which has been established by mankind in this world, rather than being founded upon the Word of God. Therefore, the study and implementation of social work relies upon a system created by man based on principles and precepts naturally at work in this world. Social work can be found to be in alignment with things of God, but most often is entwined with the god of this world.
In fact, God’s Word warns us over and over again about finding help in times of trouble: Psalm 60:11 (KJB) Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Socialism, in a nutshell, is the process of engineering or constructing the lives of both children and adults to align unto an accepted means which is in agreement with the world, rather than adhering to the direction, correction, commandments, and precepts readily found and established by God in His Word. Yes, socialism and “social engineering” are both emphatically geared away from reliance and trust upon the power and providence of God. In fact, socialism most often stands in direct opposition to God and godly living. Socialism places the care and concern for the people into the hands of the government, the world, and at last to society. It allows governmental rule and control to rein upon most, if not all, aspects of life rather than man being tucked in safely and securely being powered by the fuel of faith as he rests in the capable hands of God. Relying upon God is definitively found outside the parameter of governmental concern and control. One important truth to keep in mind is that whatever the government gives you for free they can also suddenly take away. God’s providence is eternal in nature and His blessings are forever.
Humans, by their very nature, are social beings. They were created for God foremost, and secondly for relationships with others. The very first relationship, or pattern, was a personal relationship between God and man, for through Him all things begin and consist (John 1:1-3 KJB). Secondly, a marriage relationship was established and built upon truths of God. The marriage relationship patterned by God is to consist between God, and a man and woman, leaving no room for the government to poke its big ugly head inside any godly relationship. Lastly, there are relations between individuals. Social relationships were always meant to be built as people relate to God first and then can better get along with each other as we sojourn together in society at large. It is important to note that relationships are being torn apart as many rights and divisions crop up. Social fissures are at work in this world to destroy God’s pattern of love and social order planted with Truth and glued together with grace and mercy.
Many people choose to forgo having a personal relationship between themselves and God,selecting instead to have what appears to be both a palatable and pleasurable relationship with each other. This kind of relationship is based solely on a man to man standpoint. It is a worldly based relationship, a socially engineered relationship which has been constructed on a flimsy foundation provided by this world having nothing to do with the presence and truths of God. Now do you understand why so many relationships are at odds with each other and falling apart in this world? From their very foundation, they are relying on perceived goodness of man rather than the leaning on the solid and eternal foundation of the grace and mercy of God which was set in place from the beginning.
Not only does social engineering and reformation affect godly relationships and marriages, it affects all aspects of life. Socialism and social reform has been introduced into all facets of life. This social reform is often legislated by the authority and political leadership at work in this land. Socialism affects many things including the dwindling financial arena, healthcare, elderly care, the ever increasing insurance industry (which literally calls mankind to place trust in them rather than in the provision of God). Socialism affects the quality of schools and the “dumbing down” of education in both grade schools and in institutions of higher learning, the making of “kangaroo courts” of our judicial system, psychological and pharmaceutically laced criminal rehabilitation, paltry politics, it gives us a faulty perception of our needs as well as needs of others, it skews our projected worth and the perceived value of others, has caused the crime rates and drug problems to escalate out of control. organizes belligerent protestors to whine like five-year-olds rather than working hard for a living, and surreptitiously diminishes the choice of individuals placing it in the hands of others, to follow whims like the dark evils of Pokemon rather than the ways of God, lastly socialism causes hope to wane and works to greatly diminish the quality of life over time.
Socialism cleverly works to devalue and cheapen human life under the guise of improving lives.
Let me ask you to consider: are you selling out your soul to the many ungodly socialistic tactics at work in this world or are you sold out to things of God? (Galatians 2:20 KJV, Luke 9:23 KJV)
One thing that social engineering cannot ever do is change the ill heart condition of the natural man. Mankind first and foremost naturally suffers from an ill heart. God’s Word says in Ecclesiastes 7:20 “For there is not a just man upon earth…” Every facet of his or her life is based upon the condition of his heart. A spiritually sick heart brings forth a sickly life, but a healthy robust spiritual heart brings forth a godly life.
God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 4:23 “that out of the heart are the issues of life …” For this reason, the heart is the first place man should start in changing his or her life, rather than attempting any social engineering based in this world, and this found in God’s Word. He promises mankind can have a new life in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Just think how dramatically this world would be affected if mankind attempted to meet God’s expectations for his or her life rather than attempting to construct his life according to precepts and parameters at work in this world.
