Hosea 4:6 (KJB) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
It does not matter if a person was living on this earth in the times of ancient history or exists today in presence of sin. Sin always destroys life.
The context of this verse is speaking of a time in the past in the life of the prophet Hosea when sin was widespread among the people. Times are no different today. Sin is very much alive and proliferating among many in these days in which we live.
However, God is still very much alive and His supernatural presence is available for your life.
Many still choose to ignore the spiritual presence of God rather than acknowledge His presence in their life. The message of this verse is abundantly clear: If man chooses to ignore God He will eternally ignore them.
Please do not discount and disregard the dire warnings God has clearly given all mankind about sin, life, and death.
