Sin separates and Sours
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. (2 Corinthians 1:12 KJV)
A clear conscious before God comes with a great testimony, rejoicing from the heart, and spiritual freedom in God instead of being bound to the god of this world.
A heart and conscious which is cluttered and spiritually hampered has a buildup of “spiritual tartar” or the heavy weight of unconfessed sin which continually pokes and prods at the regenerate man’s heart to nudge him to choose to renounce and forsake his sin. Man is never at peace when harboring unconfessed sin in his heart. There are many sour-faced Christians in this world because they have chosen to hold onto besetting sin in their life.
