Six Things the Lord Hates
Proverbs 6:16-19 (KJB) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
If you approach professing Christians today to discuss things God hates a reply from some might be that God is a God of love who does not ever hate. This is a false statement which is far from the Truth presented in God’s Word.
God DOES HATE these particular things, calling them an abomination, as itemized by Him in the scripture above:
A proud look, lying, innocent blood shed, wicked imagination from a darkened heart, running to mischief, false witness, and discord among brothers and sisters in Christ.
Yes, God does have unconditional love for sinners. God was willing to send His Only Son to die for the sin of all mankind, however, God has always and will always hate sin. Because He is holy and perfect
God cannot or will not ever align Himself together with any sin, divinely highlighting the aforementioned sins.
The book of Proverbs does have many good but often sharply pointed bits of Truth containing His understanding and wisdom worthy of liberally applying to the lives of His spiritual family. There are thirty-one chapters of this book and reading one chapter a day each month or even all year long introduces the reader to many valuable truths that will benefit spiritual growth and maturity in his or her spiritual life.
