The Ultimate Spiritual Goal

1 Peter 1:16 (KJB) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

God does not wish for your happiness.  No, indeed, He wishes for you to desire to become holy.

There is a world of difference between being happy and being holy.  Happiness relies upon our outward circumstances for ushering in happiness.  Holiness relies upon the supernatural power and presence of God.

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4 KJV)
