No Other God

No Other God

Exodus 34:14 (KJB)   For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

Moses beseeched God for His help.  While he had been busy serving God the people, left alone for a time, had chosen to busy themselves by serving golden idols.  Moses understood that idolatry in any form was a “spiritual slap in the face” to God and would not be tolerated.

God intervened in this idolatrous situation of ...

A “Roll your Eyes Moment” For Unbelievers

Exodus 7:17-18 (KJB)   Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.  18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the ...

Have You Crossed the Line?

Exodus 32:25-28 (KJB)   And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)  26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.  27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man ...

The Spirit of the Law is Inscribed inside Man’s Heart

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (2 Corinthians 3:3 KJV)

This scripture verse is contrasting the old covenant given by God to Moses written on tablets of stone against the new covenant which is delicately written upon ...

Moses was “spiritual agent OO7”

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. (Exodus 25:8-9 KJV)

God instructed Moses on every aspect of the construction of the tabernacle.   God had every detail planned, including the collection of necessary funds and the availability of valuable resources for the building ...

God Always Knows How to Get Man’s Undivided Attention

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, ...

God Is at Work In All Situations

And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. (Acts 7:22 KJV)

Moses had some incredible valleys and mountains in his life.  Some might think Moses life began “on the wrong foot” because he was abandoned as an infant by his mother in a basket set upon the river.  This relinquishment was done because his mom desired to save his life from certain ...

My Christianity Is Not Casual

My Christianity Is Not Casual because Mature Fruit is Always Found On the End of the Limb.

The following article Mature Fruit is Always Found On the End of the Limb   was rejected for inclusion in a Christian magazine with for this reason : “While this piece is well written, I don’t feel it fits our editorial needs at this time. I prefer a more casual, conversational style of writing for the magazine.

Praise God my writing was ...

Take Up Your Cross November 17th 2015

God gives unmerited favor and truth.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:16-18 KJV)

Truth and grace came from God through His Son in the New Testament.  The law came in the Old Testament ...

Take Up Your Cross December 18th 2014

Are you facing an uphill battle in His power or your weakness?

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

The death of Moses propelled Joshua into a new position of leadership at the hand of God.  Moses had valiantly led the Jewish people on a forty year trek through the desert. Joshua must have felt fainthearted ...
