Test Yourself Against Truth

Test Yourself Against Truth

2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJB)   Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

This verse does not say to be sure to fully examine the lives of others.

“Spiritual investigating” among your friends, neighbors, and even acquaintances, strangers, and especially enemies seem to be a popular past time for many today, but doing so is not of ...

Separate unto Salvation

Separate unto Salvation

James 1:21 (KJB)   Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

This verse draws a certain line.  It calls for man to make a clean cut from all kinds of evil and wickedness and be set apart for things of God.  It does not say separate from some things but clearly instructs mankind to step away, move apart from, or separate themselves ...

Cancer Harms Man from the Inside Out

Cancer Harms Man from the Inside Out

Galatians 5:9 (KJB)   A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

This is the latest devotion in our Spiritually Fit Heart Series.  Today we will examine both physical and spiritual cancer and the demise it can bring to both physical and spiritual life.

The Spirit of the Law is Inscribed inside Man’s Heart

Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (2 Corinthians 3:3 KJV)

This scripture verse is contrasting the old covenant given by God to Moses written on tablets of stone against the new covenant which is delicately written upon ...

Is Your Heart Singing or Sour?

Is Your Heart Singing or Sour?

I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. (Psalm 13:6 KJV)

David made this statement after realizing how bountifully God had dealt with him when he was so undeserving of any goodness from God.

Mankind naturally deserves punishment and death at the hands of God for his innate sinful condition.

However, God is a god of love and mercy and willingly took upon Himself the consequence of sin which man deserves.  ...

Is Your Nature “Alive and Kicking”?

Is Your Nature “Alive and Kicking”?

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:16-17 KJV)

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit…” Who is The Spirit spoken of in this verse?  None other than God.  God is a Spirit who bears witness with ...

Man Is to Conduct a Heart Inspection Before Taking Communion

Man Is to Conduct a Heart Inspection Before Taking Communion

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (1 Corinthians 11:29-30 KJV)

The truth contained in these two scripture verses should certainly cause new Christians along with spiritual veterans who appear to be seasoned and mature Christians, to pause and contemplate.

“For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily…” ...

God Covers Man in His Righteousness

God dressed Adam and Eve in His righteousness covering their sin laden darkened spiritual condition illuminated in their own eye gate showing both their spiritual and physical bare nakedness.  This uncovering was the result of their nature being twisted or bent away from the righteousness God through their choice to eat of the fruit of the tree God had forbidden them from consuming inside the Garden of Eden.

Their response to being uncloaked was immediately apparent; both to them and ...
