He is Greater!

He is Greater!

1 John 4:4 (KJB)   Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I am convinced that all professing Christians would greatly benefit from the reading and applying this verse each day.  We cannot possibly hear this important truth too often!  The more we hear it the easier it is to recall, repeat, and apply this verse in tough times.

Reaching out ...

Power Over Life and Death

Power Over Life and Death

Revelation 1:18 (KJB)   I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

This verse refers to the deity of God.  It points to the birth, death, and resurrection of His Only Son Jesus Christ, and refers to both His presence in the beginning and His existence for forevermore.  God was, is, and forever will be alive.

Take special note of ...

God Always Makes a Way

God Always Makes a Way

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJB)   There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Today it may often seem as if there is no way for sincere Christians to make any eternal difference for Christ in ...

A Worldly Wimp is an Eternal Loser

Luke 11:21-23 (KJB)   When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:  22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.  23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

Even though it often seems the god of this world is ...

Seek God

Matthew 8:5-6 (KJB)   And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,  6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

What is your common response when faced with a sudden illness or other travails in your life?  Do you broadcast your adverse circumstances immediately on Facebook, or pick up your cell phone and spread your dreadful news amongst friends and family?  Maybe you choose to ...

There is a Sure Cure

There is a Sure Cure

Acts 14:8-10 (KJB)   And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:  9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,  10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

This man spoken of in this verse was born a cripple.  He ...

Victory Comes Through God

Psalm 118:10-12 (KJB)   All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.  11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.  12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

It is not clear who the author of this Psalm ...

The Vine is Essential

The Vine is Essential

John 15:6 (KJB) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

I cannot overstate the obvious- the vine of a plant is central to its continued life.  If branches or stems of a plant are removed or trying to exist outside of its central vine they will certainly quickly fade and wither away.  ...

God’s Grace Brings Glory in Any Circumstance

God’s Grace Brings Glory in Any Circumstance

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV)

Spiritual and physical brokenness is ...

Pressed Out of Measure

Pressed Out of Measure

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: (2 Corinthians 1:8-9 KJV)

Yes, God gives mankind way more than he alone can handle.

I am sure you have often ...
