Are you clothed in the garments of salvation?
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. (Isaiah 61:10-11 KJV)
This verse in context speaks of Israel in the millennium when a remnant of the Jewish people will be saved. This verse also can be applied to all people who are a part of God’s spiritual family throughout time.
Just as a bride and groom are clothed in special garments for their earthly wedding ceremony those who reside in the spiritual family of God rejoice in the garments of salvation adorned with the robe of righteousness waiting for the Lord to return for His bride. God is the groom and His spiritual family is the bride.
A robe of righteousness is a gift from God available through placing faith in the finished work of His Son on the cross. Jesus Christ paid the debt of sin through a perfect sacrifice by shedding His precious blood. This spiritual gift is available for all who accept His gift for their personal sin debt through faith.
