God will lead you to rest in His peace and presence.
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. (Psalms 18:29 KJV)
Thee in this scripture verse is speaking of God. David knew that it was in God’s supernatural power that he was able to run through, or away, from troops in the many skirmishes and battles he had encountered in his life. David knew that the ultimate victory in any battle came from the hand of the God, not from anything of his own power.
Not only did David escape from troops but he was also able to rise above situations on this earth. Many of us can bring to mind times that God has lifted us above darkness and adverse circumstances on this earth and set us down in a place of rest by His side.
God tells us:
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. (Psalm 23:2 KJV)
God desires that we find a place of spiritual comfort and rest. David was a man who lived after God’s heart and God desired he have spiritual peace and presence about him.
