Who and what controls your heart and mind?
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24 KJV)
A sincere person who yearns or seeks to obtain information and understand heart knowledge about God is not the same as a person who seeks after God with his whole heart. Head understanding has an influence upon thinking patterns but does not overtly affect the flesh over the long term; possessing personal knowledge of God in the heart has an immediate and long lasting impact. Heart knowledge of Jesus Christ will impact life now and for all eternity.
Mankind is always in the process of compiling and storing data in their mind. This ranges from basic facts to opinions, feelings, emotions, and the truth of God’s Word pooled together collectively for the brain to process further identifying what to hold onto, what to dismiss from occupying space, and what to allow to settle deep within the crevices of our soul. What we hold onto in the recess of our mind is for quick recall of information, decision making, and judgments as needed in the course of activities of daily living. The items we allow to trickle down from our head to rest within our heart intimately affecting our whole being; our inward soul, our mind patterns, and our outward actions; whether it is of a godly or evil intent.
An individual who hears the Truth of God’s Word and allows it to settle down deep within their heart infiltrating the thirsty cracks and crevices allows the power of God through faith to cultivate a personal relationship with them generating new spiritual life in their soul. God’s power via the Holy Spirit comes to reside forever in the spiritually alive heart of this individual.
Once an individual is a saved or spiritually alive this person can worship God in spirit and truth. God’s Spirit resides in their heart working through patterns of thinking and the decision making process of their mind. This inner GPS or resident guide steers the individual in all matters of life; especially in testing the spirits about them to decipher whether the spirit is of truth of God from His Word; or a counterfeit or false spirit resonating from the god of this world.
Information stored in the mind is lacking spiritual power unless God’s Truth has trickled down into the cracks and crevices of our heart meeting with the power of the Holy Spirt. The Holy Spirit guides mankind in all matters of life as He mans the helm or doorway of both our heart and soul.
