Man’s apparent success according to evil devices will be cut down as God lifts up His own spiritually alive and robust in the eternal realm.
A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. (Psalms 37:1-2 KJV)
This Psalm speaks of those who operate in spiritual sync according to the god of this world as they dwell in the evil and darkness of this world. The Bible says not to be envious or fret about any apparent earthly success of individual’s who choose to live according to the tactics and wiles of the devil. What may come across as success in this world is not achievement lasting all eternity but fleeting worldly success that will be cut down and fade away in light of eternity.
Being cut down is a reference to suffering physical death upon this earth as well as experiencing an agonizing spiritual existence in the throes of the fire of Hell in the eternal realm forever without the presence of God. Yes the Bible clearly says the wages of sin is death but life comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)
Those who accept His gift through faith are made spiritually alive in Christ upon this earth and spiritually alive forever in the eternal realm. Dying to self is being alive in Christ living for the things of God despite the readily apparent evil of the god of this world.
Often it seems that evil is left to flourish upon the earth and those who are living for God in this world are losing spiritual ground but God will settle the final score in the heavenly realm according to His Word.
