Are you sojourning in God’s beautiful garden or dwelling in a spiritual desert of death?
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:15-17 KJV)
God placed Adam in this lush and perfect Garden of Eden “to dress it and to keep it…” God finished creating this paradise-like environment for him to live in while keeping it in tip top shape. The beautiful surroundings God had placed him in were for Adam to enjoy as he lived according to God’s commandments and precepts upon this earth.
God provided Adam with many trees to eat from freely; only restricting Adam from eating from one tree in this wonderful orchard allotment. This particular tree was a detriment to the life of Adam. It contained the knowledge of life which was meant only for God and not for man. This tree had eternal consequences which were not in the best spiritual interests of mankind. This tree meant eternal spiritual death for the partaker of the spoiled fruit of its branches.
Adam was placed by God into a perfect environment which was eternal, lush, and perfect. Adam was given one restriction and much liberty in which he was to keep this beautiful garden in order according to the will of God.
